High Speed Utah-Spencer Wansgard. It's $24.95 and is pretty much like DSL. It's a local dude that we go through that used to be in our ward. I can send you his info if you need it. It's in my email somewhere.
Our Internet service is a local company for Portland. We haven't had any problems with it being a small company. We actually HATE Comcast because of their crap customer service. Good luck!
I loved Comcast. We had it for like 8 years. Super fast, but pricey. When we moved into our new abode, Comcast didn't offer their service, so we had to choose something else. We picked Quest. Don't make that same mistake. We were getting 1.5 mbps when we had 12 with Comcast. We dumped them and tried Digis. Love it! And it's cheap! $40 and we're getting about 7mbps. Not too shabby.
Comcast has been reliable for us, but is pricey. They do have a great introductory special, but it only lasts 6 months. I've heard rumors that they negotiate (assuming you are with them already), ask for retentions.
We have Digis too...reliable and cheap. Plus, we didn't have a landline out here in the sticks. So, now we sort of do AND we have internet. It's like we're the Clampetts!
the problem is the cheaper the internet connection, the poorer its services, why dont you buy one for a limited time, such as for duration of time or hours to save money and work better, i had loads of problems too when i went out to get one for ourselves,
I live the charmed life with my Norm Abrams lovin' husband, our two handsome boys- the Nub and baby Fatty Fat Fat, and Gus the dumb dog who thinks he's a person. He's not.
you know what? i'm crazy. so don't steal my photos or anything else from this place...or i will find you and beat you to death with a bag of oranges. i will. you watch.

I have Comcast... No clue how much it is but I am thinking around 50 for 12 meg with a boost to 18 at times.
Fast... only outages I have ever had were in the middle of the night like 3 times.

Just saw Steph's post. Didn't mean to disparage on her advice because I'm just now seeing it. That's just our experience in our state.
