{baaaaaasically...}

"basically" is basically my new favorite word. i feel like it covers so much while at the same time nothing at all. a perfect metaphor for me.

onto the meat of this

basically we had the greatest weekend ever, and not a moment too soon. friday evening hub, the nub, gus and i loaded up and high tailed it out of happy valley down to the refuge that is casa de connie {let's not forget my dad, it's his casa too}. you would have thought we were moving in with how much junk we took. packing for babies is hard, you feel me? combine that with my natural tendency to over prepare and things do not add up to simple. i'm not even sure that sentence made sense. my point is that babies come with a lot of baggage. and so do their mothers.

mom cooked, we ate, dad sat in his chair, we played with the baby, ventured to manti for our favorite little ice cream stop, found a new favorite store {more on this later} watched some basketball, hit up wal-mart {hi light!}, had a bonfire, went to church, did nothing.

it was perfect.

the best

a bonus? i somehow swindled my mom into letting me take home my great grandmother's vintage red shoes. these suckers are like 50 years old and even better in real life. legit VINTAGE people. good thing me and vena share the same shoe size.

see for yourself

vintage red shoes were the frosting on my cake

best.weekend.ever.

Baaaasically, I'm jealous of your weekend. I'm feeling a little cooped up right now...afraid of the whole RSV thing.

I'm with you on the baby baggage thing. Since when did a weekend stay require so much damn stuff?

Those shoes are great!

Have you shared your weight loss tips/secrets? I have been seriously impressed with your weight loss. Do share!

Um, YEA!! I am loving those shoes.

Yea, speaking baggage. I still have the playpen in the spare room closet for visitors. It is now Jane's closet and she has no room. I need to take it up to the attic. I think that's even more work than taking it to Manti.

I love Connie!! and your dad of course! The red shoes are fabulous and even more because they are grandmas! awesom! I have to tell you that, maybe it is pregnancy hormones, but it really meant alot to me that you brought me my little gift of love today. what a great friend that you are! I am feeling quite lame lately and I am sorry, but I will do better and know just how much I totally adore you and miss hanging more often. Love you! (sorry to be so cheesy and hormonal!)

So, I know this is going to sound borderline, freaky stalkerish, but I was wondering if something had happened to you. You hadn't blogged for like 12 days. I really do enjoy reading your posts and hoped everything was okay... Looks like everything is just fine and I'm just way too paranoid.... Ha! Anyway, cool red shoes... Will go great with the "Skinny Jeans"

Is it wrong that I'm secretly (or maybe not-so-secretly) happy that the crazy plagiarizer copied you so I could find your hilarious blog?

Well, if it is - I don't wanna be right.

1. love the red shoes...loooooooove them!

2. how come I can't' comment on your blog stealing post?

I have to say I've seen a ton of blogs out there that have my "yays and Boos" picture that they use or my "flash back friday" picture and although I suppose it's flattering that they liked the idea and by no means is it an origional idea on my part it is a bit annoying that they can't just find their own damn picture :) Also I've had emails from my readers showing me posts from other blogs where they've copied and pasted my post verbatum (or darn near close) on their blog.

Usually I just click on over to the blog stealer's blog and leave a comment on the post. Nothing mean, just a comment so they know that I know...usually when that happens the post is gone (magic?) or the blog has gone private.

So...do we take that as a compliment or a swift kick in the pants?

Be original. seriously!
