Nursing is one of those things that's hard at first, but gets easier as you go along. Take it one day at a time.

Newborn smell is my favorite.

My ankles were more swollen after I had my babies than they were when I was pregnant.

Your baby is darling! I love the pictures.
Do you spend your day kissing those cheeks?

A&D ointment will become your best friend! Nursing hurts, but so worth it! He is such a cutie! I love the newborn smell too!

nursing = SUPER HARD...give it at last a month before you give takes that long to get the hang of least for me. Yes, wait at least a whole PAINFUL month :)

he's adorable. Very adorable.

ps I never was swollen while pregnant, but I made up for it 1010% after I had my girls. Both times I was so swollen it hurt to walk and none of my shoes fit. It took me 2 weeks to get back to normal. My legs looked like sausage links!

I luff that guy.

Does he already have a creepy internet godmother? 'Cause I so want to vie for that position.

He's so cute Kalli! I think that my nips hurt for a good three weeks.

He is so precious!

Nursing freaking sucks and whoever said it is SOOO natural was a total liar. Really, if it works for you do it (Gwen hated it, but I forced her to do it for a few months because I felt like I'd suck as a mom if I didn't nurse), but if it doesn't work out, don't feel bad and let those nuts (the ones that believe that nursing is the only way or your baby will be stupid) make you feel bad. Do what's best for you!!!

He really is so cute! I'm glad you're loving it, and can't wait to hear the birth story...especially if you thought it was awesome too.

I can't tell you how much The Nursing Mother's Companion helped me when I was having nursing problems. Make that new dad run to the bookstore and pick one up.

Email me if you have any questions.

He is so cute Kalli, but I hate not knowing his name. for your nipples, they toughen up. I think after nursing 3 kids, mine are bulletproof. ;)

our friend is a mom/baby nurse at the hospital I delivered at and gave them to us before we went home saying she had done her research and these are the best! Order your little one some, they're great.

Okay this is also a late post but I must comment on nursing:

I nursed 4 babies - it hurt every time for at least 4 weeks. BUT - by the time my last baby came around I finally learned many tricks to manage the pain and keep nursing - this is by far the best experience I have had nursing. So if you ever want some secret tricks, I am your girl.

With my two girls in the middle, I eventually went to a breast pump (Love Medela!) which actually was fortuitous because I ended up having gall bladder surgery and some other things so I couldn't nurse and needed to pump so that worked well for me. I pumped milk for over a year with each. I am just one of those moo-cow women that produces mega milk so all my babies are long time breast feeders. Super happy they are!

(and I found it funny that the word verification for this post is COWDRY)
