an ode to the holidays

Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the townhouse

the creatures were snoring
Gus, out cold on his couch

the loot was all wrapped
wedged under the tree
pine needles falling
stupid, dead tree should've been free

too much money spent
too many stores shopped
my visa is maxed
my credit is shot

the festivities have all but come to an end
we've partied
we've ate
'till my waist will no longer bend
we love you dear Christmas
for all of this fun
but we're even more grateful
for sending to us His son
we give thanks for His love
and for this time of year
for our families and tender ones
for the glorious holiday cheer
so be joyous and be happy
sleep well this night
and remember a baby
wrapped up warm and tight
give your thanks to the man
for the life that he lived
pattern yours rightly so
that you can continue to give
keep all this in mind
as your day unfolds
Merry Christmas to all!!
stay out of the cold!!

Have a super fantastic Christmas!!

love Kalli
